Apr 14, 2016 路 I've had the Mirena for 6 years, changed after 5 and apart from some pain and cramping during the initial fitting, it has been an absolute godsend. It hurt to have it put in, I then had cramps for about 24 hours but then have only had one "period", my depression which is underlying has improved, my weight has gone down and I know I won't get pregnant. Oct 9, 2015 路 The mirena is usually prescribed for such women but I would be asking for a referral to a gynae (and preferably a gynae as well with a specialist interest in endometriosis rather than a general gynae surgeon) first before making any decisions on the Mirena. I was told Mirena can help mood swings but it hasn’t here! 馃槩. I still had periods with mine in so when i didn't have one that particular month i knew to test. Apr 1, 2024 路 The doctor has suggested the Mirena coil but in the meantime, I have been given tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid to ease the pain and heavy bleeding. However I also really want to have lighter periods. I’m 48 and def peri, so planning on starting oestrogen as the other component. Just take a couple of Ibuprofen before the procedure - it can be a bit uncomfortable but it's usually fine. Feb 12, 2024 路 Hi everyone 馃憢, Just after some advice really Still in complete shock Had the mirena coil no issues then last week completely exhausted struggled doing school run & after school activities etc I have 2 children a teenager (fun fun) and a 5 year old. No bleeding whatsoever after a few months, and for 5 wonderful years. However, the doctor removed it last week. May 25, 2023 路 I have a mirena coil which was put in to deal with very heavy periods, and it literally changed my life. Aug 2, 2022 路 Hi,I’m 51 and have been feeling really tired, depressed and anxious. Feb 27, 2009 路 I need to go for a coil fitting. i did get cramping for about a week after i had it put in and i was very very aware of it, i could feel May 16, 2023 路 I have been asked if I want the Mirena coil and have to make the decision when I go to hospital this week. Oct 18, 2024 路 Had awful flooding periods before Mirena, debilitating and embarrassing. I had it for 4 years in my mid 50s in post meno. I did gain weight but not in such a way that I can clearly link with the coil and I've successfully lost a significant amount of weight whist having it. It doesn't sound as good as the mirena coil period wise though. Have still not got through whole jumbo box of Tampax I bought when DD3 born (had Mirena fitted when she was about 6 months old) Sep 8, 2023 路 I've been on Mirena for 20 years and it's changed my life. jyblxb ygrha vcwl mqxks nnkj pfek jkliil gxig vhh uoxzr
